Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of My Dance Calendar (“we”, “us”, or “our”), available at mydancecalendar.com and through our mobile apps. By creating an account, applying as an organizer, or otherwise using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

My Dance Calendar is a directory and discovery platform for dance events, classes, and organizers. We help dancers find events and classes, and help organizers reach dancers by listing their events, classes, and profile information.

We are not a booking, ticketing, or payment platform.Any prices shown for events, classes, or membership packages are informational, set and maintained by the organizer, not by us. We do not process payments, issue tickets, or act as a party to any transaction between you and an organizer. Any purchase, registration, or payment arrangement for an event or class happens directly between you and the organizer, entirely outside this platform, and is subject to that organizer’s own terms.

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• One account per person. Do not create an account on behalf of someone else without their permission.
• Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

Organizer accounts are subject to approval and let you create and manage listings for your own events, classes, and instructors. By applying for and using an organizer account, you additionally agree that:

• Everything you list — event details, class information, prices, schedules, instructor profiles — is accurate and kept up to date, and you are solely responsible for it.
• You have the right to list the events, classes, and content you submit, and that doing so doesn’t infringe anyone else’s rights.
• You are solely responsible for any transaction, registration, refund, or dispute arising from an event or class you list — we are not a party to it and have no liability for it.
• We may reject an organizer application, or remove or hide any listing, at our discretion — including for inaccurate, misleading, or policy-violating content.
• The “Featured” designation, where it appears, is an editorial curation decision made solely by us and is not for sale or self-selectable.

If you post a review, report content, or submit any other content through the service, you must do so honestly and in good faith. You retain ownership of what you submit, but you grant us a license to display it on the platform. We may remove any content that is false, abusive, off-topic, or otherwise violates these Terms, and may suspend accounts that misuse these features (e.g. fake reviews, harassment, spam).

• Impersonating another person or organization, or misrepresenting your affiliation with one.
• Posting false, misleading, or fraudulent event, class, or organizer information.
• Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users.
• Attempting to bypass, disable, or interfere with the security or normal operation of the service.
• Scraping, automated data collection, or bulk downloading of listings without our written permission.
• Uploading malicious code or content that infringes someone else’s intellectual property rights.

The My Dance Calendar name, logo, and platform design are our property. Content you submit (profile information, reviews, event/class listings) remains yours, but by submitting it you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it as part of operating the service.

Event, class, and organizer information is supplied by organizers, not verified by us for accuracy in every case. We do our best to maintain a trustworthy directory, but we do not guarantee that any listing is accurate, complete, current, or that any event or class will actually take place as described. Attend events and classes at your own discretion and judgment.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, My Dance Calendar and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the service or any event, class, or transaction facilitated by an organizer you found through it.

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive behavior, or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your own account at any time from your Profile settings — see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

[TODO — governing law not yet finalized.] These Terms will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which My Dance Calendar is legally registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, once that registration exists. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the service will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
